There was no better way to wrap up SuPerTandem than at EU PVSEC in Bilbao the place to be for solar innovation in Europe!

Last month, we proudly concluded our three-year journey at one of the most influential conferences for photovoltaic technologies in Europe and worldwide. EU PVSEC provided the ideal platform to share our results, connect with the PV community, and discuss the next steps for advancing tandem solar technologies.

Why EU PVSEC mattered for SuPerTandem

The project has been all about pushing the limits of high-efficiency tandem solar cells, combining perovskite in tandem cells to deliver sustainable, cost-effective solutions for the future of solar energy. Ending at EU PVSEC allowed us to showcase these achievements in front of leading experts and industry stakeholders, reinforcing the importance of future collaborations in driving innovation.

Highlights from our participation

🔹 Panel discussion: Sjoerd Veenstra joined experts from fellow projects LUMINOSITY_EU and Smartline PV to exchange insights on scaling up tandem PV technologies, focusing on upscaling on flexible vs rigid substrates, during our parallel event Driving EU Leadership in Perovskite Innovation.
🔹 Technical presentation: Urs Aeberhard (FLUXiM AG) shared the latest advancements in modeling and simulation methods, including the impact of luminescent coupling on tandem cells – a key factor for improving device performance.
🔹 Poster session: Amina Labiod (CEA) presented her work on flexible monolithic all-perovskite minimodules, developed within SuPerTandem, highlighting progress toward lightweight and versatile PV solutions.
🔹 Exhibition booth: AMIRES designed a shared booth for the Perovskite Network of projects, creating a vibrant space to interact with the community, showcase results, and foster new collaborations.

This event was more than a conference, it was a celebration of three years of innovation, teamwork, and progress toward sustainable, high-efficiency tandem PV modules. The discussions and connections made in Bilbao will help shape the next steps for our research on perovskite technologies.
